Visitation: Friends may call at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Okawville on Tuesday from 4 P.M. until 9 P.M. and on Wednesday from 7:30 A.M. until the service hour.
 
Services: Funeral services will be held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Okawville on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Darwin Schrader officiating. Following the service, cremation will be performed.

Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or School, Immanuel Lutheran Wee Care or the American Cancer Society and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home of Okawville.

Mrs. Rocella Streuter of Okawville, IL departed this life at her residence on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 6:40 A.M. after a courageous battle with cancer. She had attained the age of 81 years, 3 months and 28 days.

Rocella was born at Covington, IL on September 4, 1928 the daughter of Theodore and Clara (nee Wernecke) Reinhardt. She was baptized, Rocella Anna Elma Reinhardt in the St.Luke Lutheran Church at Covington on September 23, 1928 by Pastor Otto Borchelt. Rocella was confirmed in St. Luke’s by Pastor Borchelt on April 1, 1941. She was united in marriage to Leonard Streuter at Covington on August 19, 1950 and he survives her passing.

For a short time Rocella worked in her uncle, Dr. Edgar Reinhardt’s, dental office in Nashville, IL. She then worked at the Curlee Clothing Co. in St. Louis and then briefly for the United States Postal Service in St. Louis. Mrs. Streuter also was a cook at the Immanuel Lutheran School in Okawville from 1961 until 1969. Most of her adult life was spent working along side her family at their business, Streuter Chevrolet in Okawville until her retirement in 2003. Rocella was a faithful member of the Immanuel Lutheran church at Okawville where she was an active member and current President of the L.W.M.L. She was also a member of the Okawville Community Club, the Heritage House Museum Association and the “Ladies in Red” club. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pinochle with the ladies every Friday. She also enjoyed her flowers and traveling but most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Left to mourn her passing is her husband, Leonard Streuter of Okawville; a daughter, Patricia Holtgrewe of Nashville; a son, Gary Streuter and wife Wendy of Okawville; 2 sisters, Anita Reu of Mt. Vernon, IL and Alta Chiappone of Syracuse, NY and her special friend Joe; a brother, Melvern Reinhardt and wife Jerry of Naples, FL; 6 grandchildren, Andrea Renken and husband Rhett of Nashville, Rachel Holtgrewe of Kona, HI, Joshua Streuter of Okawville, Mitchell Holtgrewe of St. Louis and Abbie Streuter and Jacob Streuter both of Okawville; 3 great grandchildren, Peyton, Parker and Palmer Renken all of Nashville; 3 brothers- in-law, Roland Kniepkamp of Belleville, IL, Ted Rex of Shelton, WA and Wally Streuter and wife Martha of Collinsville, IL; 3 sisters-in-law, Lorene Frederking of Altamont, IL, Corrine Streuter of Murphysboro, IL and Joan Bohbrink and husband Bud of Jenks, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins as well as a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters, LaVerna Middendorf and her husband Leroy and her twin sister, Marcella Kniepkamp; father and mother-in law, Walter and Wilma Streuter; a son-in- law, Charlie Holtgrewe; 4 brothers-in-law, Frank Chiappone, Leroy Reu, Robert Streuter and Wilmer Frederking; and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kay Rex.
