AM with Fr. Jim VanOss officiating and interment in
the Greenwood cemetery. |

Miss Jennie Martin of Nashville, IL departed this
life at the Washington County Hospital Extended Care
in Nashville, IL on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 9:30
AM. She had attained the age of 101 years, 5 months
and 16 days.
Miss Martin was born on September 20, 1908 in
Washington County, IL, the daughter of Adrian and
Clara (Wetzel) Martin.
Jennie attended Nashville Grade School. At the age
of 16 she received a scholarship to Brown Business
College in Centralia where she earned her teaching
certificate. She also attended Southern Illinois
University in Carbondale. Jennie had a 34 year
teaching career, starting in one-room schoolhouses to
large learning facilities in Washington County until
her retirement in 1973.
Miss Martin is survived by other relation and
friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a
brother, Ray Martin.
