Visitation: Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home of Okawville on Monday from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 7:30 A.M. until the service hour.
 
Services: Funeral Services will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home of Okawville on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 11 A.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Schwab officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter Cemetery at Okawville.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #233 of Okawville.


Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the St. Peter United Church of Christ or to Heartland Hospice and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.

Leroy “Doc” Ostendorf of Okawville, IL departed this life in the Countryside Manor at Aviston, IL on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10:19 P.M. He had attained the age of 85 years and 19 days.

Leroy was born in Okawville Twp., Washington County, IL on May 15, 1925 the son of Henry C. and Emma (nee Mittendorf) Ostendorf. Doc served in the United States Navy during WW II in the Pacific Theater of Operations.

Dr. Leroy Ostendorf, M.H. DPht., N.D., practiced Naturopathic Medicine and Message Therapy in Okawville for 58 years, from 1952 up until March of this year. He was a member of the St. Peter United Church of Christ at Okawville and a member of American Legion Post #233 and V.F.W. Post #5596 both of Okawville. Doc enjoyed the outdoors and in his younger years he loved to go fishing. He also enjoyed art and drawing.

Left to mourn his passing is a brother, Leslie Ostendorf of Addieville, IL; two nieces, Darlene Ostendorf of Addieville and Mary Lou Kitowski of Nashville, IL; two nephews, Kenneth Ostendorf and wife Judy of Addieville and Eugene Ostendorf and wife Audrey of Okawville; a great niece and three great nephews, Nicole and Mathew Ostendorf and Brandon and Andrew Ostendorf; many cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Orlie Ostendorf
