Visitation: In celebration of Stan’s Life, visitation will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Sunday from 5 PM until 7 PM and on Monday from 7:30 AM until 9 AM and then at the church from 10 AM until the service hour.
 
Services: Funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 11 AM with Pastor Timothy Scharr officiating and with interment on the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery of New Minden, IL

Memorials: Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, Nashville Golf Course or to a charity of the donor’s choice and will be received by the Campagna Funeral Home.

Mr. Stan E. Stiegman, age 74, of Nashville, IL went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at 12:50 P.M at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle against cancer.

Mr. Stiegman was born on December 30 , 1935 at Clinton County, IL, the son of Edwin and Amanda (Bielfeldt) Stiegman, both deceased. He was baptized by Pastor A.F. Schlobohm on February 16, 1936 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Prairie, IL. He was united in marriage to his wife and soul mate Carolyn Gutzler in June of 1956 and she survives his passing in Nashville.

Stan was a well respected business owner for many years operating the local Shell service station and Firestone store. He later joined the Holzhauer Auto and Truck family until his retirement. Stan was known for always showing compassion for his fellow man. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nashville, a former member of the Nashville Jaycees and the Lions Club in Nashville and he also served on the Nashville City Council for numerous years. He was an avid golf enthusiast, as he was a member of the Monday night men’s league and the Wednesday night “Green Jackets”. Most of all Stan loved his family, and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be forever missed and cherished.

In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by his two sons, Tab Stiegman and wife Jenni of Pheonix, Arizona and Brett Stiegman of Nashville; four grandchildren, Eric Stiegman and wife Tessa of Nashville, Garrett Stiegman of Edwardsville and special friend DeAnn Kania of Nashville, Whitney Stiegman of Nashville and Kelsey Stiegman and special friend Andrew Schomaker of Nashville; three great grandchildren, Brynn, Claire and Cole Stiegman all of Nashville. Also surviving are his brother, Edwin “Jr.” Stiegman and wife Palma of Nashville; sister, Geraldine Twenhafel of New Minden; two brothers-in-law, Larry Gutzler and wife Carole of Lerna, IL and Willard Gerstkemper of Hoyleton; many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, son, David; infant daughter, Lori Ann; sister Darlene Gerstkemper; brother-in-law, Kenneth Twenhafel; father-in-law, Lee Gutzler; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Gutzler and special friend Vince Persigehl.
