Visitation: Friends may call at the church on Friday from 6 P.M. until 7 P.M.
 
Services: In accordance with John’s wishes, his remains were donated to the Washington University School of Medicine for medical research.

A memorial service will be held at the Freeburg Community Bible Church in Freeburg on Friday, June 18 2010 at 7 P.M. with Pastor Dale Weber officiating.


Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Washington County Vocational Workshop or to the Nashville CILA Home and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home of Nashville, who are handling the arrangements.

Mr. John W. Bowen of Nashville, IL, departed this life at the Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville on Monday, June 14, 2010 at 10 PM. He had attained the age of 70 years, 8 months and 27 days.

John was born on September 17, 1939 at St. James, MO, the son of Frank and Mary Ellen (nee Esmon) Bowen.

John was a production worker at the Washington County Vocational Workshop in Nashville for many years. He was a member of the St. Ann Catholic Church in Nashville and Knights of Columbus Council #4384. John was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He enjoyed going on walks, and he loved watching News Channel 5 and Wheel of Fortune. John also enjoyed going out to eat and he loved pie and ice cream.

Left to mourn his passing is his brother, Frank Bowen and wife Earlene of Freeburg, IL; a sister, Mary Ellen Moeser and husband Donald Sr. of Addieville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; his friend and roommate, Wally Korando; as well as other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
